Ladd’s Addition

Ladd’s Addition is located within the Hosford-Abernethy neighborhood between Brooklyn and Buckman. Ladd’s Addition is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Portland. Influenced by Pierre L’Enfant’s diagonal street grid common in Washington D.C. the streets were platted in a wagon wheel pattern with a traffic circle in the center. The homes are primarily turn of the century four-square and Craftsman style.

It encompasses four historic rose gardens and the Circle and Squares Park. This is a very pedestrian area within easy walking distance to Hawthorne, Division and Clinton shops and restaurants.
