Abernethy

The Abernethy area is situated below Hawthorne Blvd and encompasses the popular Ladd’s Addition, Division and Clinton neighborhoods.  Homes are typically turn of the century architecture, in particular the Craftsman style bungalows. Popular for a quaint variety of funky restaurants, shops, and local businesses. It’s very pedestrian and bike friendly. Downtown is easily accessed by the Ross Island or Hawthorne Bridges.

Belmont District

Belmont District is situated in a 7 block wide swath on SE Belmont St. between SE 12th and SE 60th. It was initially built along the first trolley line in east Portland in 1888.

Belmont district is known for an eclectic mix of commercial and residential properties. The tight knit community enjoys many locally owned coffee shops, restaurants and boutiques. Locals enjoy frequenting PokPok and the Blue Monk for great food and entertainment. Bike racks replace multiple parking spaces to accommodate the large eco-friendly biking community. This is the place to be if the terms green, eco-friendly, sustainability and hip describe you.

The many outdoor gardens and parks include the Ivon Community Garden, SewallCrest Park and the southern part of Laurelhurst Park .
